Ellijay splits into two commercial patterns and we treat them differently. The historic downtown square, the brick storefronts along River Street and Main Street, runs restaurants, boutiques, and tourism-driven retail in buildings that predate current code. Out on Highway 515, the East Ellijay corridor is the newer commercial strip: hotels, gas stations, chain retail, and the box buildings that serve both locals and the weekend traffic coming up from Atlanta and Marietta.

Permitting depends on where the property sits. Inside city limits it runs through the City of Ellijay; outside city limits it's Gilmer County Building and Development. We confirm which one applies before pricing the job, because the two departments don't always move at the same pace, and a project on the 515 corridor just outside the city line can pull a permit differently than one on the square.

Because we're not based in Gilmer County, we build the trip into how we schedule the job, site visits, inspections, material deliveries, so a two-hour commute doesn't turn into slower response than a local shop would give you.
